This page is for people who search my name Lemnwezl because they want to know what I am like. It’s a fairly distinct name I’ve been using since the dawn of the commercial Internet.
Work
Computer Stuff
-
I like working on UNIX and Linux, typically a mix of ops, admin, and software
-
Probably better at reaction/troubleshooting jobs rather than day in/day out programming.
-
Working as a generic "software developer" in the 2020s is essentially torture. It used to be quite fun, and I still program as a hobby, and to design mechanical things.
-
Haven’t ruled out information technology jobs, but they tend to not be common in any place I want to live, and working remotely is not my thing.
Thus, Non Computer Stuff
-
Basically going to trade school so I can work on actual hardware again, and not just some collossal woven mesh of a thousand different layers of abstraction and automation running on thousands of servers, which have become commodities like sand or gravel, that no one will ever even log in to.
-
Interested in things like process controllers, PLCs, hydraulic valves/logic, electromechanical devices, industrial transmissions and power plants, engines, generators, pumps, motors, and stuff like that.
